Morning Reading: Isaiah 52:7-10 (NLT)

Jesus, Light of the World
Wayne Forte, 2009

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns! The watchmen shout and sing with joy, for before their very eyes they see the Lord returning to Jerusalem. Let the ruins of Jerusalem break into joyful song, for the Lord has comforted his people. He has redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord has demonstrated his holy power before the eyes of all the nations. All the ends of the earth will see the victory of our God.

Morning Reading: 1 Timothy 3:16 (ESV)

Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

Morning Prayer

The Magi knelt before our Savior. Let us also worship Him with great joy.

+ Christ, manifested in the flesh – sanctify us by living in us and through us.
+ Christ, vindicated in the Spirit – free our lives from the spirit of discord.
+ Christ, seen by angels – give us even now a share in the joy of heaven.
+ Christ, preached among the nations – move all hearts by the power of Your Spirit.
+ Christ, believed in by the world – renew Your followers’ faith.
+ Christ, taken up in glory – kindle in us the desire of Your kingdom.

Lord God, by a guiding star You revealed Your Only-Begotten Son to all the peoples of the world. Lead us from the faith by which we know You now to the vision of Your glory, face to face. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

“Jesus light of the world”

Blessing

The Lord bless us, and keep us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life.

+ In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!
