Morning Prayer: Tue, 16 August – Proverbs 1:23; Isaiah 55:1 ~ come to the well

+ In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Opening Sentence

I arise today through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity, through a belief in the Threeness, through a confession of the Oneness of the Creator of creation.

Morning Reading: Proverbs 1:23 (NLT)

Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.

Morning Reading: Isaiah 55:1 (NLT)

“Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink—even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk—it’s all free!

Prayer

Our sufferings bring acceptance, acceptance brings hope:and our hope will not deceive us, for the Spirit has been poured into our hearts. It is through the same Spirit that we pray: Stay with us, Lord, on our journey.

+ Help us to realize that our troubles are slight and short-lived; they are as nothing compared with the joy we shall have when we reach our home with you.

+ Come to the lonely, the unloved, those without friends; show them your love, and help them to care for their brothers and sisters.

+ Take away our pride, temper our anger: may we follow you in your gentleness: may you make us humble of heart.

+ Give us the fulness of your Spirit, the Spirit of sonship: make our love for each other generous and sincere.

Stay with us, Lord, on our journey. Increase in us your gift of faith, so that the praise we offer you may ever yield its fruit from heaven. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

“The Well” – Casting Crowns

Blessing

Christ with me, Christ in me.

Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left; Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down; Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me; Christ in the eye that sees me, Christ in the ear that hears me.

Christ with me, Christ in me.

+ In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!
