Praying the Psalms: Sat, 01 Dec – Psalm 133 ~ live together in peace

Praying the Psalms

+ In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Opening – (Northumbria Community)

One thing I have asked of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life; to behold the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.

Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ, King of endless glory.

Morning Reading: Psalm 133 (NLT)A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. A psalm of David.

How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!

For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe.

Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.

Morning Prayer

O Lord our God: Bind your people together in love –

+ that we may be kind, demonstrating patience…
+ that we may be humble, demonstrating respect…
+ that we may be forgiving, demonstrating mercy…
+ that we may be supportive, demonstrating trust…
+ that we may be persistent, demonstrating faith…

O Lord our God: Bind your people together in love –

+ for we come from many tribes and nations, yet are one in Christ Jesus…
+ for we come from many cultures and world views, yet are one in Christ Jesus…
+ for we come from many life experiences, yet are one in Christ Jesus…

O Lord our God: Bind your people together in love through the power of your Spirit working within us, that we may receive your blessing, even eternal life, we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
