Morning Prayer: Fri, 30 Sep – Psalm 84:8-11; I Chronicles 16:27-29; 2 Corinthians 3:18 ~ reflected glory

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Opening Sentence

One thing I have asked of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life; to behold the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.

Reading: Psalm 84:8-11 (NLT)

O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, hear my prayer. Listen, O God of Jacob.

O God, look with favor upon the king, our shield! Show favor to the one you have anointed.

A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.

Reading: I Chronicles 16:27-29 (NLT)

Honor and majesty surround him; strength and joy fill his dwelling.

O nations of the world, recognize the Lord, recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong. Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his presence. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor.

 2 Corinthians 3:18

2 Corinthians 3:18

Reading: 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NLT)

So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Prayer

May everything in this my being be directed to Thy glory and may I never despair. For I am under Thy hand, and in Thee is all power and goodness. – Dag Hammarskjold, Markings

May I be equal to Your hope of me. If I am weak, I ask that You send only what I can bear. If I am strong, may I shrink from no testing that shall yield increase of strength or win security for my spirit.

I trust in You, O Lord. I say, “You are my God. My times are in Your hand, my times are in Your hand.”

“Psalm 84 ” – C3 Church Oxford Falls Campus in Sydney, Australia.

Blessing

May the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ go with you, wherever He may send you. May He guide you through the wilderness, protect you through the storm. May He bring you home rejoicing at the wonders He has shown you. May He bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.

+ In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!
