So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Christ became man to make us children of God and Christ intercedes for us before God our Father: Thank You for Your loving mercy – Open to us the treasures of Your love.

+ You have enlightened us in baptism: we consecrate our day to you.
+ Fill us with praise of You today: may we take Your word with us wherever we may go.
+ Teach us to respond to Your word: may Your word be fruitful in us.
+ Give us courage when things go wrong: strengthen us with faith in You, with hope in Your promises and with love of Your will.

Lord, grant that we may share in the fullness of Your grace. Bless us, and keep us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Canticle

Christ, as a light illumine and guide me. Christ, as a shield overshadow me. Christ under me; Christ over me; Christ beside me on my left and my right. This day be within and without me, lowly and meek, yet all-powerful. Be in the heart of each to whom I speak; in the mouth of each who speaks unto me. This day be within and without me, lowly and meek, yet all-powerful. Christ as a light; Christ as a shield; Christ beside me on my left and my right.

Blessing

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you, wherever He may send you. May He guide you through the wilderness, protect you through the storm. May He bring you home rejoicing at the wonders He has shown you. May He bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.

+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
