When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!

Restore our fortunes, Lord, as streams renew the desert. Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.

Gracious God: You have given us Your Son, Jesus Christ, to be the solid rock of our faith.

+ Restore in us the crumbling places that the evil one has eroded over time.
+ Support us with Your Spirit and make us patient, kind and gentle.
+ Strengthen us in love for You and for our neighbors.
+ Rebuild deep within us an altar of worship, love and service.

Merciful God: Guide us throughout the day that we may not wander off the sure foundation of our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who live and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever. Amen.

Heavenly Father, give us the eyes of Jesus to see our neighbors and the strangers we meet as Your gifts to us. Teach us what it means to welcome them as we would welcome You. Forgive us our fears, our selfishness, our silence, our indifference towards the strangers who come to our communities. Teach us to love and care for them the way you do.
