Wednesday of the Seventh Week in Ordinary Time

Almighty God, give me grace to love what you command and to desire what you promise, that I may fix my heart on Jesus Christ your Son my Lord where true joy is to be found. Amen.

Praise the Lord! For he has heard my cry for mercy.

The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

Prayer:

Lord God, my strength and shield: be with me as I go about my work today.

+ Be my patience when I’m frustrated.
+ Be my endurance when I am tired.
+ Be my wisdom when I am uncertain.
+ Be my inspiration when I’m out of ideas.
+ Be my peacemaker when I feel hurt.
+ Be my comforter when I feel overwhelmed.
+ Be my energy when I am weary.
+ Be my guide when I am confused.
+ Be my forgiver when I get it wrong.

Lord God: I trust you with all my heart. Through Jesus Christ your Son, who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever. Amen.
