+ In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen
Opening prayer:
O Lord,
from whom all good proceeds:
Grant us the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,
that we may always think those things that are good,
and by your merciful guidance may accomplish the same;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Yes, by God’s grace,
Jesus tasted death for everyone.

Psalms: Psalm 86:1-10, 16-17 – Matt Lemmler
A prayer of David.
86:1 Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
+ Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
+ Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
+ Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
+ O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
+ Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
+ I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.
86:8 No pagan god is like you, O Lord.
None can do what you do!
+ All the nations you made
will come and bow before you, Lord;
they will praise your holy name.
+ For you are great and perform wonderful deeds.
You alone are God.

Instructions for the Passover
12:43 Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “These are the instructions for the festival of Passover. No outsiders are allowed to eat the Passover meal. But any slave who has been purchased may eat it if he has been circumcised. Temporary residents and hired servants may not eat it. Each Passover lamb must be eaten in one house. Do not carry any of its meat outside, and do not break any of its bones. The whole community of Israel must celebrate this Passover festival.
+ “If there are foreigners living among you who want to celebrate the Lord’s Passover, let all their males be circumcised. Only then may they celebrate the Passover with you like any native-born Israelite. But no uncircumcised male may ever eat the Passover meal. This instruction applies to everyone, whether a native-born Israelite or a foreigner living among you.”

Jesus, the Man
2:5 And furthermore, it is not angels who will control the future world we are talking about. For in one place the Scriptures say,
“What are mere mortals that you should think about them,
or a son of man that you should care for him?
+ Yet for a little while you made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
+ You gave them authority over all things.”
Now when it says “all things,” it means nothing is left out. But we have not yet seen all things put under their authority. What we do see is Jesus, who for a little while was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone.

Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Almighty God, you have not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities; grant that we, who for our evil deeds deserve to be punished, by the might of your grace may mercifully be relieved; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
O God, our heavenly Father: Send forth laborers into your harvest; defend them in all dangers and temptations; and hasten the time when the fullness of the Gentiles shall be gathered in, and faithful Israel shall be saved; through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
