We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.
2nd Sunday after Pentecost, 23 Jun 2019: Galatians 3:23-29; Luke 9:18-24 ~ God’s Children through Faith
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”
All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised.
It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him.
It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
“This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts…, I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”
