Easter | Tuesday 21 Apr 2026

+ In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen

Opening prayer:

Almighty God,
you gave your only Son to be for us
both a sacrifice for sin and an example of godly living:
Give us grace thankfully to receive his inestimable benefits,
and daily to follow the blessed steps of his most holy life;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Like newborn babies,
you must crave pure spiritual milk so that
you will grow into a full experience of salvation.
(1 Peter 2:2)

OT Reading: Proverbs 8:32-9:6 (NLT)

8:32 “And so, my children, listen to me,
for all who follow my ways are joyful.
+ Listen to my instruction and be wise.
Don’t ignore it.
+ Joyful are those who listen to me,
watching for me daily at my gates,
waiting for me outside my home!
+ For whoever finds me finds life
and receives favor from the Lord.
+ But those who miss me injure themselves.
All who hate me love death.”

9:1 Wisdom has built her house;
she has carved its seven columns.
+ She has prepared a great banquet,
mixed the wines, and set the table.
+ She has sent her servants to invite everyone to come.
She calls out from the heights overlooking the city.
+ “Come in with me,” she urges the simple.
To those who lack good judgment, she says,
+ “Come, eat my food,
and drink the wine I have mixed.
+ Leave your simple ways behind, and begin to live;
learn to use good judgment.”

NT Reading: 1 Peter 2:1-3 (NLT)

2:1 So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.

Prayer: ACNA | BCP 2019

Blessed Lord, who caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience and the comfort of your Holy Word we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

O God, our heavenly Father, you manifested your love by sending your only-begotten Son into the world, that all might live through him: Pour out your Spirit on your Church, that we may fulfill his command to preach the Gospel to all people. Send forth laborers into your harvest; defend them in all dangers and temptations; and hasten the time when the fullness of the Gentiles shall be gathered in, and faithful Israel shall be saved; through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O God of peace, who has taught us that in returning and rest we shall be saved, in quietness and in confidence shall be our strength: By the might of your Spirit lift us, we pray, into your presence, where we may be still and know that you are God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
