Morning Prayer: Mon, 23 Jan – Psalm 106:6-8; Proverbs 24:30-31; Hebrews 6:11-12 ~ laziness has its reward

Monday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time

+ In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Opening Sentence

Create a clean heart within me, O God,
so that it may become Your chosen shelter
and the resting place of the Holy Spirit.

Reading: Psalm 106:6-8 (NLT)

Like our ancestors, we have sinned. We have done wrong! We have acted wickedly! Our ancestors in Egypt were not impressed by the Lord’s miraculous deeds. They soon forgot his many acts of kindness to them. Instead, they rebelled against him at the Red Sea. Even so, he saved them—to defend the honor of his name and to demonstrate his mighty power.

Reading: Proverbs 24:30-31 (NLT)

I walked by the field of a lazy person, the vineyard of one with no common sense. I saw that it was overgrown with nettles. It was covered with weeds, and its walls were broken down.

Reading: Hebrews 6:11-12 (NLT)

Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.

Bless you, Lord God, for bringing me to this day; I thank you for protecting my life and giving me what I need.

+ Be with me as I take up my daily tasks; and help me to remember that it is in your world I live and work.
+ Endow me with faith, hope and love: that I might persevere in loving others as you have loved me.
+ Stay with me and with everyone I meet this day: let me a purveyor of your joy and your peace.

King of heaven and earth, rule over my life this day. Sanctify me, and guide my every thought, word and deed according to the commandments of your law, so that now and for ever your grace may free and save me. Through my Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

“Trust in You “ – Lauren Daigle

Declaration of Faith

Lord, I will trust You, help me to journey beyond the familiar and into the unknown. Give me the faith to leave old ways and break fresh ground with You.

Lord bless me, and keep me from all evil, and bring me to everlasting life.
