Thursday of First Week in Ordinary Time

+ In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Opening Sentence

This day is Your gift to me;
I take it, Lord, from Your hand
and thank You for the wonder of it.

Reading: Psalm 119:165 (NLT)

Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.

Reading: Proverbs 28:10 (NLT)

Those who lead good people along an evil path will fall into their own trap, but the honest will inherit good things.

Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT)

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

Lord Jesus Christ: Thank you for all you have given me; bless me and lead me through the day.

+ You are gentle and humble of heart: teach me to receive others as you did.
+ You are the light of the world; fill me with your light and life.
+ You are compassionate and kind: fill me with your mercy for the sick and troubled.
+ You were tempted in all things, yet did not sin; lead me in your righteousness.

Almighty, ever-living God, hear my prayer: dispel from my heart the darkness of sin, and draw me to the true light, Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

On the path that is before you, may you have companions on the journey, may you find Christ in the stranger, and may you know the love and blessing of God.

+ In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!
