Peanut Gallery: I’m not really a big Romney fan… I voted for Gingrich when I had a chance here in the South Carolina primary… as a protest against the GOP Establishment.
But here I am and Romney is my only choice… if I care anything about Life, Religious Freedom, Family Values, Economic Solvency, and America as an exceptional nation – "a shining light on a hill." Oh… and did I mention Health Care, Education, Medicare, Social Security, Immigration, National Security, Israel and Judeo-Christian values. I know I've forgotten something….
So… I really have no choice but to vote for Romney (except not to vote at all, I suppose, which would be a total dereliction of public responsibility – as far as I'm concerned.) But who is Mitt Romney?
Why not let him tell you his own story… instead of relying on a hostile media and his deceiptful opposition? Here's a link to his home page – click here. Is he putting his best foot forward? Of course, there’s a lot at stake in this election. So filter what you read through honest skepticism.
But in the end you will not be able to escape the reality that Romney is an accomplished, essentially decent man with basic American values and a desire to restore the American dream. So check him out – maintain a healthy skepticism – and consider the alternative.
God help us!
Peanut Gallery: We might as well get used to hearing Romney’s argument against Obamacare. It will make or break us in November.

President Obama’s program is an unfolding disaster for the American economy, a budget-busting entitlement, and a dramatic new federal intrusion into our lives.
Why Id repeal ObamaCare – USATODAY.com.
Friday is the second anniversary of ObamaCare. It is past time to abolish the program, root and branch. The Supreme Court will soon have a crack at this; arguments about the program’s constitutionality open before it next week. But whatever the justices decide in what is certain to be a landmark decision, the case against ObamaCare extends far beyond questions about its constitutionality. President Obama’s program is an unfolding disaster for the American economy, a budget-busting entitlement, and a dramatic new federal intrusion into our lives.
It is precisely for those reasons that I’ve opposed a one-size-fits-all health care plan for the entire nation. What we need is a free market, federalist approach to making quality, affordable health insurance available to every American. Each state should be allowed to pursue its own solution in this regard, instead of being dictated to by Washington.
But abolishing ObamaCare will only be half the battle. Just as important is the question of what to put in its place. Instead of the massive new taxes, trillions of dollars in new spending, and top-down bureaucratic decrees of ObamaCare, we need to limit Washington’s control by spurring competition, creating maximum flexibility and enhancing consumer choice. Peanut Gallery: Woulda, coulda, shoulda… doesn’t cut it anymore. Romney is not my first pick for our next President, but it is what it is. As Rush says: We need to live in “Realville.” It’s time, like it or not, to close ranks and focus on taking back the White House in November.
The fork in the road is sharp, the consequences of the choice in November almost irreversible.
Which is why, whether disappointed or even angry, it is time for everyone who cares about defeating the president to get behind the governor.
With a sweeping win in Illinois that ranged across almost every demographic and income level, educational achievement or religious background, Mitt Romney has almost completely killed off the “zombie narrative” of a “brokered” convention.
That bizarre “story-line” isn’t dead in every precinct of the media, but those who indulge it get rolled eyes and sudden smirks sent their way. “Really? You believe that?” serious analysts ask. “Please keep your investment advice to yourself,” they add under their breaths.
This doesn’t mean that unhappiness with the the former Massachusetts governor will go away, only that it will delineate the dead-enders and the Obama fanatics among the media, both new and old. There are still eight subsets of college basketball fans still bitter at Ohio’s 8-0 record in this year’s Mayan Calendar tourney, but that bitterness doesn’t erase a single one of Ohio State, Ohio’s, Xavier’s or Cincy’s wins. It just embarrasses the whining fan.
There were good reasons for every Republican who ran to get into the race. Continue reading “One of Two Men Will Be President in January, 2013: Which One Do You Support? – Hugh Hewitt – Townhall Conservative Columnists”
