1. I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up,

and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

2. O Lord my God, I cried unto thee and thou hast healed me.

3. O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave;

thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

4. Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his,

and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

5. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life;

weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

6. And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.

7. Lord, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong:

“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.” – Psalm 145:8

God is kind and merciful, tender and sympathetic; granting help to those in need.  He is patient with His people, and always abundant in love for all of His creation.

If I am to walk in His ways, I am meant to mirror my Maker through the ways in which I love people.  As I receive grace, I am equipped to give grace to others.  Because our Heavenly Father is kind and tender, patient and loving, ever ready to be our help in time of need; so are we, to do likewise.

Years later, many stories of triumph from this horrific tragedy have come to light.  Fathers that have forgiven…

Whenever I remember the events on 9/11, I cannot separate image from emotion. And I see my emotions reflected on the face of every American whose eyes met with mine during those tragic hours, days, weeks following that unanticipated attack against our country. Looking back on those days, I recall that we were all brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. Who wouldn’t have given his right arm or just a shoulder to lean on to anyone else who needed it? It was also a moment for the American people to shine in virtue.

Here is a video you may not have seen yet. It shows us as we truly are — ordinary, common, everyday people — true Americans and true heroes. If this were you, I know you would have done the same thing.
