Rick Santelli | Third-World Status | Energy Policy | The Daily Caller

Peanut Gallery: Here’s a simple question – Who do you think knows more about economics and energy? Rick Santelli or Barack Obama?

“Our society, our culture — the greatness of America — goes hand-in-hand with energy, and our leaders need to wake up,” Santelli said. “We need energy, OK? And if they want to turn into a third-world country where there is absolutely no pollution whatsoever. And I think we need to be good to the planet, but we need to be more honest — do we want to be a superpower that uses energy and tries to do it wisely, or do we want to put our head in the sand and think that these technologies that are noble, that I have been talking about since I was in grammar school debating solar and geothermal. They’re not ready, and I think it’s just a disservice to my kids that they’re going to make energy usage such a penalty-type scenario, where we all know if you want to put GDP up, energy usage is going to go right along with it.”

Epic smackdown of student who thinks Catholic college must pay for her birth control – Glenn Beck

Peanut Gallery: Sandra Fluke – making her parents proud advocating that Georgetown pay for her birth control.

“Forty percent of the female students at Georgetown Law reported to us that they struggled financially as a result of this policy,” Fluke said, referring to the fact that the university doesn’t pay for contraception. “Without insurance coverage, contraception, as you know, can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school.”

She detailed, among other stories, how one woman felt “embarrassed” and “powerless” at the pharmacy counter when she “learned for the first time” that contraceptives weren‘t covered by the university’s health care plan.

“$3,000. How much sex do you have to have for your contraception to cost three grand during law school?” Pat asked.

“You would have to have sex three times a day the entire time you were in law school,” Stu explained.

White House Goal: To Raise Gas Prices!

Peanut Gallery: When left wing ideology trumps common sense… you pay – big time! What can you do about it? Dump Obama in 2012.

With the national average of gas prices hitting $3.65 a gallon, nearing $6 in some parts of the country, and poised to head even higher, America’s families are wondering when the bleeding at the pump will stop. But for Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu, those steep prices aren’t even a concern. In fact, he says his goal is not to get the price of gasoline to go down.

Chu delivered those stunning remarks in testimony before Congress yesterday. When Rep. Alan Nunnelee (R-Miss.) asked Chu whether it’s his “overall goal to get our price” of gasoline lower, Chu said, “No, the overall goal is to decrease our dependency on oil, to build and strengthen our economy.”

“With the national average price of gasoline $3.60 or higher, many are wondering why gas prices have jumped 20 cents just one month’s time. Gas prices in California and New York have already surpassed the $4 per gallon mark and relief is not in sight.

Last week, President Obama addressed the issue of rising gas prices. He took many facts out of context and suggested he wants to micromanage the solution from Washington.”
