5 Reasons That Shouting “Racism” Doesnt Work Anymore – John Hawkins

“Even little kids who read fairy tales know you can only cry “wolf” so many times before people stop believing you.”

5 Reasons That Shouting “Racism” Doesnt Work Anymore – John Hawkins – Townhall Conservative Columnists.

Because of slavery (Democrats did it), KKK violence (Democrats did it), segregation (Democrats did it), Jim Crow laws (Democrats did it) and other historic abuses heaped on black Americans in our country by the Democratic Party and its supporters, America has been a bit oversensitive about race for the last few decades. Of course, the political party responsible for all of that racism is now the one shouting, “You’re a racist,” and trying to pit different racial groups against each other. That might seem ironic at first glance, but if you think about it, it’s actually par for the course. Since its founding, the Democratic Party has always tried to generate racial strife; it just uses a little different strategy today than it did in the past. Unfortunately for Democrats, the race card just doesn’t work as well as it did in the good old days. There was a time when a condemnation by Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton produced actual fear as opposed to eye rolls and laughter. It wasn’t so long ago that being called racist was a threat, as opposed to just being more of an annoyance today. That has only changed in the last few years for a few select reasons. Romney: Why I’d repeal ObamaCare – USATODAY.com

Peanut Gallery: We might as well get used to hearing Romney’s argument against Obamacare. It will make or break us in November.

President Obama’s program is an unfolding disaster for the American economy, a budget-busting entitlement, and a dramatic new federal intrusion into our lives.

Why Id repeal ObamaCare – USATODAY.com.

Friday is the second anniversary of ObamaCare. It is past time to abolish the program, root and branch. The Supreme Court will soon have a crack at this; arguments about the program’s constitutionality open before it next week. But whatever the justices decide in what is certain to be a landmark decision, the case against ObamaCare extends far beyond questions about its constitutionality. President Obama’s program is an unfolding disaster for the American economy, a budget-busting entitlement, and a dramatic new federal intrusion into our lives.

It is precisely for those reasons that I’ve opposed a one-size-fits-all health care plan for the entire nation. What we need is a free market, federalist approach to making quality, affordable health insurance available to every American. Each state should be allowed to pursue its own solution in this regard, instead of being dictated to by Washington.

But abolishing ObamaCare will only be half the battle. Just as important is the question of what to put in its place. Instead of the massive new taxes, trillions of dollars in new spending, and top-down bureaucratic decrees of ObamaCare, we need to limit Washington’s control by spurring competition, creating maximum flexibility and enhancing consumer choice. How many American lives is a worn copy of a Koran worth?

“How do you save a nation that has no history of freedom or self-rule and where the citizens refuse to fight for themselves?”

koran, burning, Afghanistan | The Daily Caller.

by Major General Jerry Curry, USA, Ret.

How many American lives is a worn copy of a Koran worth? If a Muslim writes in a Koran and tears out its pages its fine. If an American burns that same Koran it’s a crime punishable by death in Afghanistan. Is the burning of a book really equivalent to the killing of an American officer? I don’t think so and neither does the officer’s family and friends. Can we assume that President Obama and Secretary Hillary Clinton will phone the American families and apologize to them too? Why not? Aren’t American lives more important than Afghan books?

Isn’t it time we started treating Prime Minister Karzai of Afghanistan like an adult? He should either get his people under control, or the United States should pull all of its troops out of there, now. You can buy more Korans but you can’t buy more senior military officers. Why not have Amazon.com send Karzai a box of books and let him keep the extras? Shouldn’t that handle his concerns? Continue reading “How many American lives is a worn copy of a Koran worth?”

Time for a Cut, Cap & Balance Budget – United States Senator Jim DeMint

“Without immediate action to control federal spending, deficits will continue to grow as a proportion of gross domestic product, and our accumulated national debt will soon reach world-destabilizing levels.”

Time for a Cut, Cap & Balance Budget – Op-Eds – News Room – United States Senator Jim DeMint.

Time for a Cut, Cap & Balance Budget

Politico

The most important policy imperative in the world today is for the United States to balance its budget. Though the reasons we must do so are economic, the reasons we should are fundamentally moral.

Everything our republic means to our citizens, and everything America means to the world — friend and foe alike — depends on our ability to pay our bills and honor our debts.

The full faith and credit of the United States — on which depends our reputation and, ultimately, our security, prosperity and freedom — is at risk today as never before. In recent years, under presidents and Congresses of both parties, we have racked up yawning deficits and mushrooming debt that now pose a danger to America as we know it. End the Down Syndrome Holocaust Today

Peanut Gallery: There are no exceptions… every child is born in the “image of God”… and God has a purpose and plan for every one of them.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1.27 ESV

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139.13-16 ESV

End the Down Syndrome Holocaust Today.   by Cassy Fiano | March 21, 2012

When you hear the word holocaust, most people automatically think of Hitler and the Nazis, slaughtering the Jews. Many people don’t know that there was another group that Hitler targeted first, a dress rehearsal of sorts for the horror that was to come later. The first group of people that Hitler went after was the disabled. First, there was a law passed in 1933 which required the forced sterilization of people with disabilities, and over 400,000 people were sterilized. Then, there was Aktion-T4, which authorized the murders of disabled people. Over 70,000 were killed. They would be placed in buses and taken to killing centers, where they were murdered as soon as they got there under the Nazi euthanasia program.

How many people will learn about that and be horrified? And how many of them know that right now, to this very day, we’re still practicing eugenics against the disabled? This holocaust, though, is a silent one. It’s one that many people won’t hear about and if they do, they excuse it. The holocaust I’m referring to is the systematic killing of babies with Down syndrome. Continue reading “End the Down Syndrome Holocaust Today”
