“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O  Lord , open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.

Prayer:

God of Angel Armies, send Saint Michael and Your Heavenly Hosts to protect and defend America from the principalities and powers that would destroy us. Give Your people courage and confidence knowing that there are more on our side than on theirs.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Saint Michael Archangel,
defend us in battle,
be our protection against
the wickedness and snares of the devil;
may God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God, cast into hell
Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl through the world
seeking the ruin of souls.
