My dad limped home after serving as a young Marine in Korea in 1950-51–the evidences of the severe frostbite he suffered remain to this day. He and my mom worked hard to buy a home, raise and educate my brother and I and celebrated sixty years of marriage. Today he is in a wheelchair, living in an assisted living home and his mind is not all that clear–but he still can, with tears in his eyes, list the names of the men he loved and served with who did not make it back. Amazing Grace abounds . . . the bitter with the sweet . . . All to His Glory!
Please thank him for his service. My son is in Jordan right now with the USMC. Freedom is not free.
I will pray for your son and those he is serving with; I wasn’t aware we had Marines in Jordan. I trust you are very proud of him!
