Ron Radosh» Stanley Kurtz’s “Spreading the Wealth”

Peanut Gallery: In 2008, anyone who drew attention to Barack Obama’s radical roots and associations was ignored and considered a right-wing whacko. Well, the “chickens did come home to roost” and the whackos were proven right. America elected a Trojan Horse for the secular radical left.

So here we are in 2012. Is Stanley Kurtz just another radical right-wing whacko to be ignored? You be the judge – read Radosh’s review and then decide if it’s worth reading the book.

If Kurtz is right in his assessment… the “con” of the middle class is on and America – as we know it – is in serious trouble.

If someone was to say that these people want nothing less than to destroy suburbs in America, you might think that this sounds too crazy to be any kind of real possibility. Yet this is their goal and their hope, motivated by the belief that the growth of the suburbs was not a result of the desire to spread out and lead a good life by people who wanted to realize the American dream, but instead was fueled by racism, greed, and a desire to benefit from exploiting poor minorities. Those making such arguments occupy what is called a “regionalist” movement, and they hope to attain their goal through programs like regional tax base sharing in which money previously held by suburban communities for the benefit of those who live in them will be taken and redistributed to nearby cities and poorer suburbs.

Courageous ‘Chickin’ Fuels Culture War
TRUETT FAMILY STANCE ON BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE SPARKS CONTROVERSY

July 30, 2012 – When Chick-fil-A’s Dan Cathy affirmed his stance on the sanctity of traditional marriage, advocates of same-sex marriage loudly voiced their opposition. Now both Billy Graham and Franklin Graham have issued statements expressing support for the Cathy family’s values, as well as urging people to visit Chick-fil-A on Aug. 1.

The people who know their God will display strength and take action (Daniel 11:32, NASB).

by Janet Chismar

It seems that a group of mischievous cows with poor spelling skills—or a lowly chicken, depending on your preferred logo—has become the latest symbol of America’s cultural divide.

When Dan Cathy, president and chief operating officer of Chick-fil-A, affirmed his stance on the sanctity of traditional marriage, same-sex marriage advocates loudly voiced their opposition and called for Americans to boycott the restaurant.

Days later, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee responded by calling for a National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day on Wednesday, Aug. 1, an action supported by both Billy Graham and Franklin Graham.

In a statement issued July 26, Billy Graham said he supported his “good friends Truett Cathy and his son Dan Cathy, and their strong stand for the Christian faith.

“Each generation faces different issues and challenges,” said Mr. Graham, “but our standard must always be measured by God’s word. I appreciate the Cathy family’s public support for God’s definition of marriage.” Continue reading ““Eat Mor Chickin” – Aug 1st – Billy Graham”

Psalm 17 : 6 – 8
NKJV

I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; 6 Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, 7 O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; 8 Hide me under the shadow of Your wings,

“To work as it was intended, America needs a special kind of citizenry: a mature, well-informed electorate of persons able to reason clearly and rule themselves prudently. If that’s true — and it is — then the greatest danger to American liberty in our day is not religious extremism. It’s something very different. It’s a culture of narcissism that cocoons us in dumbed-down, bigoted news, vulgarity, distraction and noise, while methodically excluding God from the human imagination. Kierkegaard once wrote that “the introspection of silence is the condition of all educated intercourse” and that “talkativeness is afraid of the silence which reveals its emptiness.”[6] Silence feeds the soul. Silence invites God to speak. And silence is exactly what American culture no longer allows. Securing the place of religious freedom in our society is therefore not just a matter of law and politics, but of prayer, interior renewal — and also education. “

In Archbishop Charles Chaput’s keynote address at the Napa Institute he answered a question from a friend of his who wondered if the religious freedom debate had “crossed a Rubicon” in our country’s political life.

From Archbishop Chaput:

The Rubicon is a river in northern Italy. It’s small and forgettable, except for one thing. During the Roman Republic, it marked a border. To the south lay Italy, ruled directly by the Roman Senate. To the north lay Gaul, ruled by a governor. Under Roman law, no general could enter Italy with an army. Doing so carried the death penalty. In 49 B.C., when Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon with his 13th Legion and marched on Rome, he triggered a civil war and changed the course of history. Ever since then, “crossing the Rubicon” has meant passing a point of no return.

Caesar’s march on Rome is a very long way…
