Pray for the So Philippines Church

“As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.” (2 Sam. 22:31)

April 10 | Southern Philippines To enhance the
effectiveness of the training programs for Sama lay leaders, Open Doors will produce 500 copies of the Old Testament Survey in the Sama Sinama language this year. Pray that this program will help the leaders to handle God’s truth with accuracy.

“We have met the enemy….”

Peanut Gallery: Thanks to Johnnie Bellamy for bringing this Ayn Rand quote to our attention.

“When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing; When you see that money is flowing to those who deal not in goods, but in favors; When you see that men get rich more easily by graft than by work; When your laws no longer protect you against them, but protect them against you… you may know that your society is doomed.”
– – Ayn Rand – Atlas Shrugged

Rand could be describing political life here in Horry County. Here’s another quote, this time from the comics of yesteryear….

“We have met the enemy, and he is us.” — Pogo

Hallelujah – believing without seeing…

Peanut Gallery: Most of life for the “saints” is believing without seeing… pressing on to that glorious hope… this song expresses the “blessed” longings of the faithful.

Hallelujah – Newsboys

Hallelujah Lyrics

I’m looking up
Holding out
Pressing forward
Without a doubt
Longing for the things unseen
Longing for the things I believe
My true country

We hope and wait
For the glorious day
All tears will vanish
Wiped away
On the saints this day already shines
On the saints this day already shines
It already shines

We’ll be singing hallelujah
We’ll be singing hallelujah
At the top of our lungs, halle-le-lujah
(With all our breath, halle-le-lujah)
To Your glory, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

And I know that it’s coming
But I can’t see it now
And I’ve touched it in moments
But I can’t hold it yet
And it glows in the darkness
And it calls us away
To our true destination
To that glorious day

Morning Reading: John 20.24-29 NLT

Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”

One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin),was not with the others when Jesus came. They told him, “We have seen the Lord!”

But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”

Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”

“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.

Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
