Extreme poverty and social prejudice make it difficult for Christian workers to reach out to Buddhists.
Please pray for God to open the door for His church to start ministries that will draw people closer to His Kingdom. Pray for His wisdom to guide the workers into innovative ways to share the gospel to Buddhists.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (Prov. 9:10)
April 28 | Maldives
Worshiping God is forbidden in Maldives and believers doing so, albeit inconspicuously, are easily reported to authorities. When suspicious of Christian activities, neighbors themselves leak information to authorities.
Pray for the protection of believers and for the Lord to give them ideas on how to pray and worship without raising suspicion from their community.
“The LORD protects and preserves them — they are counted among the blessed in the land — he does not give them over to the desire of their foes.” (Ps. 41:2)
April 26 | Malaysia
Muslim-background believers in Malaysia are secret believers. When their conversion to Christianity is discovered, they immediately experience pressure from their families and communities to go back to their former faith.
Pray for them to be established firmly in their faith in Christ so that they can stand up for the Lord when pressured.
Be strong and courageous. “Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deut. 31:6)
April 24 | laos
Pastors and evangelists are vulnerable to being caught and imprisoned while on the road, carrying out their ministry from village to village. Often they are incarcerated without the chance to inform their family, which makes it worse for them.
Please pray for their safety as they dedicate themselves to the Lord’s work in spite of the dangers.
“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” (Ps. 32:7)
April 23 | Laos
Activities of believers are closely monitored. Local
authorities are quick to question the whereabouts of Christians when they leave their villages to attend a church event or training.
Please pray for divine protection as they risk their safety every time they travel to another village to attend church services.
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. (Ps. 5:11)
