Please pray for the people of Mauritania

August 28 | Mauritania – Current translation and publishing efforts in the local
languages of Mauritania are scattered and there is little communication about what is available. Pray for unity and cooperation, so that more people in Mauritania will have access to the Bible in their own language.

Where is Mauritania? Here’s a Google map link – click here – it’s a mostly isolated desert country on the west coast of Africa. Here’s a link to the Wikipedia entry – click here.

Slavery in Mauritania has been called a major human rights issue as well as female genital mutilation/cutting, child labour, and human trafficking. Wikipedia

Open Doors describes Mauritania this way – click here. Life is hard for the people of Mauritania and even harder for believers.

“For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory.” Psalm 32.7 NLT

Please pray for God’s protection and comfort in a world far beyond anything we can understand.

  1. It is so sad when we stretch our vision beyond our own little world and see how other people across the world live, and the struggles they go through. Some things are unfathomable indeed. I will certainly pray.
